About the Course

The management of any firm should be aware of their own strengths and weaknesses. This skill can be used to motivate subordinates and control various organizational situations. Communication skill is an important component of interpersonal skill. The characteristics of the individual and also the situational factors play an important role in interpersonal behavior. Interpersonal skills can be developed through constant practice. Two factors are of prime importance in developing one's own interpersonal skills – developing skills to improve one to one interaction and developing the skills to understand the behavior of others. Interpersonal skills encompass verbal elements of a message, written and spoken, as well as such non-verbal elements as physical appearance, vocal inflections, facial expressions and body language. Participants can build competency in this area by learning how to interpret and employ non-verbal cues effectively, how to understand and use vocal inflections, and how to develop and deliver a message through language.

TA, developed by American psychiatrist Dr. Eric Berne is one important technique used for developing interpersonal skills. This is a part of organizational training in many organizations around the world. The important ideas in transactional analysis are the ego states (Parent, Adult, and Child), the type of transactions (complementary, crossed, and ulterior transactions), Games, Strokes, etc. A basic understanding of these ideas is required to use the concept of transactional analysis for improving interpersonal skills. TA helps to understand communication better and thereby improve the interpersonal skills of people.

About the Instructor(s)

Sachitra Kumar Chakravorty has been accredited by American Institute of Business Psychology (A.I.O.B.P), Beaverton, USA for Corporate Human Capital Training and is personally coached & certified by world renowned Leadership Guru, Mr. Arthur F. Carmazzi, The Founder of DC and COLOURED BRAIN THEORY with considerable experience in conducting interactive workshops in soft skills for corporate and professional institutes all over India. He conducts workshops in Communication Skills, Body language, Business Etiquette, Corporate Etiquette & Culture, Motivating Employees for Performance, Leadership, Team Building, Group discussion & Interview Skills, Personality Development at the institute level and also at workplace. He has done his masters in Counselling & Psychotherapy and MBA in Human Resource, M Phil in Counselling & Guidance and Ph D in Management. Course Format

Offline and online mode of training with voice assisted Powerpoint presentations and a manual provided at the start of the course. The participant will have a week’s time to master one particular module of the course and he/she can contact the trainer either through email/ chat or video chat for any clarifications.

Each module will have it own activity and a pragmatic paper for better understanding.
